It’s the time you spend volunteering, so track your time and other members time volunteering for community causes, including the miles and time in your car! There are forms on the LOOM board in the hallway for the Heart of Community. Both WOTM and LOOM are required to hand in monthly reports. Monday, October 21, 2019 Henry County Chapter 1115 received an award for their contributions of $3,621.09 to Moose Charities 2018-2019. Coworkers, thanks for making this happen! Awards were also handed out for coworkers signing up 5 or more people. Recipients were Lisa Lashley, Diane Bargo, and Deborah Harrison. These ladies were present at our October 3rd monthly meeting. We need people to run for LOOM officer positions that will govern our Lodge from May 1, 2020 until Apr. 30, 2021. If you are interested, please let an officer know and they will nominate you. We hope to have a great board next year! Unfortunately, we can no longer afford to keep the kitchen open every Friday due to lack of support, but pizza will be available. However, on Feb. 14 there will be a Special Valentines Dinner. On Wednesdays we will no longer have our KJ, but Johnny will still perform every Saturday that we don’t have another major event planned. Many attended the Masterpieces at the Moose in January and requested we do it again soon, so we will schedule another class in March or April, as a lodge fundraiser. We will have another wine tasting, this time California wines, ½ red, ½ white, some sweet, some dry, as requested after the last wine tasting, which was also well attended. We’ll serve cheese fondue and chocolate fondue at this Valentine Melting Pot Wine Tasting at 6:30pm on Saturday, Feb. 1, for only $15/person! Purchase tickets in the SQ or call 770-957-5303 to reserve your seat. Keep your ticket stub as we will be raffling a bottle of wine. Good luck! Feb. 2 at 4pm we’ll celebrate Superbowl. Lodge provides hot dogs; you bring a side dish. We try to please and hope you will support our lodge as much as you can. We recently had to replace our old ice machine at a cost of almost $5,000! What a great New Year’s Eve Dinner, Dance, and Breakfast hosted by the men. It was great! A big thanks to all who made this a fun and joyous occasion. We had a busy month in January. Kristi Jenema raffled off a $100 bill for our Activities and Sports Committee. Thanks Kristi! Meg Richardson held the Masterpiece Class for The Higher Degrees & College of Regents Committee. Thirty-five women and men signed up for this class. Great fun, a wonderful fundraiser, and everyone took home their own Masterpiece. Thanks David Goldstein & Meg for teaching this class. Kay Patton and Barbara Hodges attended the 2-HOTT Training Class in Griffin January 18 & 19th (see picture next page). A great learning experience and it was wonderful making new friends from other chapters. On our way home we visited with Eugene and Kathy Reid. Please keep them in your prayers as Kathy is battling cancer. We are excited to host the Valentine’s Day Dance, February 14th, at 8:00 p.m. for only $5.00 per person. That night the men will host a dinner 6-8:00 p.m. Please come out and join us to see if you get a rose. We are all looking forward to the Mid-year Georgia Conference held at Moosehaven February 21-23rd. Hope to see you there!
